How Dogs Know the Time
It has something to do with the fiery star, even though it may not be able to see the sun through the window.Of course, dogs can't look at a clock and tell that it is 5:00 p.m. But they do know the events that usually occur at that particular time. And this is another reason why dogs are aware of the time. For example a trivial event - your water heater makes that boiling sound at the same time every day. Thus this sound signalizes to the dog what time of day it is.So this is it. Dogs really have the ability to know the time within 15 minutes and know the difference between the lengths of time. And you'd better not to make your favorite pet wait too long! This makes my doggy tear the books for reading that I keep near my bad. So in this manner my dog shows that it is disappointed that the time of our long walks ended for a while.Stories like these are rather common. The reason for such a wonderful sense of time lies in the biological clocks that dogs have in their brain. These biological clocks are cells deep in the brain that produce enzymes, and then break down the enzymes within a 24 hour period. So dogs just know what time of day it is.Another time orienteer for a dog is the sun.
How Dogs Know the Time
One day however, the train arrived on time as usual, but dog's master didn't get off it. The dog was waiting for hours, but what pet didn't know was that his master had been rushed to the hospital and had died. Every day for the rest of its life faithful shaggy friend was at the train station at 5:30 waiting for its departed master. Kind people, who worked there on the station, began to feed the dog until its death right there at the station still waiting for its disappeared master. My dog always feels when I am going to visit relatives in another country and that I won't be at home for several weeks. For everyone, who has a dog it is not surprising that his cookie little pet never misses the breakfast. Moreover, the dog is always ready to meet its master after a workday, school or regular training in the gym.Practically all dogs get up at the same time in the morning and at the same time they go to sleep. Most dogs like to sleep during the day time. And again they choose the same time period. Others ask to go out to potty at the same time everyday.Dogs know the difference between the lengths of time. For example, if you are late from work or a party, you'll find you dog right near the door waiting for you and of course happy more then ever. There was a dog that knew its master to arrive on the 5:30 train each day. "Doglike dog" was waiting for him each time the train was pulling into the station.

OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal 2009 - Limited Edition
The watch is driven by Omega's revolutionary Co-Axial calibre 2500. Chronometer certified, drastically reduces the friction among the parts that transmit energy to the other components. The result in reduced serving requirements for the movement, and thus greater precision over time. The hero product is available is in a limited edition of 1948 pieces in honor of the year Omega launched its popular Seamaster watch line.Inside of the ceramic is metal (Liquidmetal), for the minute indicators on the watch model bezel. There is also the lume dot at 12 o'clock. The Liquidmetal numbers and scales are then satin brushed. Because the ceramic is a harder material than the alloy, the satin brushing of the fine details can be done without affecting the ceramic bezel. The numbers and scaling then appear in bold, vivid contrast to the glossy ceramic background. To get the beautifully seamless look that you can see here on the bezel of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal watch.

Review of the Timex WS4
In this case, I had the opportunity to talk on the phone with the VP from Timex, who shared some interesting tidbits:"Think outside the circle" was one of their key design mantras. This led to the widescreen format, which allows more useful screen area without overhanging the sides of the wrist.Economy. This is Timex's first ABC bags gift online, and they wanted it to be priced reasonably, in line with the rest of the Timex line. Given that list price is $199, I think that they succeeded.High-quality sensors and well-written software, combined to produce readings that are trustworthy, repeatable and as accurate as possible.Asymmetry. The notched-rectangle shape of the screen was inspired by the rear window of the expedition-classic Land Rover. (Expedition vehicle, Expedition line of watches. Makes sense, eh?)Easy to read.Use industrial design to produce a bags for gift that looks good, too.Easily user-replaceable battery. I wish more companies thought of that! The watch was tested in the Himalayas on an expedition to Meru by Conrad Anker (Wikipedia page), complete with videos on YouTube. (1, 2)As you can see from the pictures, the screen is separated into three areas: In the upper left, circular-array segments are used to emulate an analog face, which is very easy to read at a glance. (Only hour and minute hands are displayed.) In compass mode, it's used to display the emulat Up for review today is the Timex WS4, their new entry into the field of 'ABC' gifts for jewelry, which stands for Altimeter/Barometer/Compass. Actually, this one also has temperature, but that's getting ahead a bit. Here are some quick stats:Widescreen shape - unlike the Casio Pathfinder or Suunto Core, this one is shaped to add display via width. The wide screen enables the display of more information, as you'll see below.Waterproof to 50m (165ft)Temperature rated from -10 to 50C (14 to 122F)Composite case, stainless steel bezel.Available in six color combinations; our review unit was the militaristic green and matte black. Also available with a fabric strap.Sophisticated alarm - daily, weekly, weekend-only, and five minute backup alarm. 100-hour countdown timer.100-hour stopwatch, customizable to show lap or split times in large digits.Compass with 'virtual needle' that always points north.Indiglo night lightGraphical display of altitude and barometric pressure.Weather forecast based on recent barometric trend.A screen inspired by the Land Rover!Read on for the full review. The New Seiko Prospex 6R15 Divers
As of April 2007, that's about to change. Seiko is introducing three new divers based on the 6R15 movement which is more accurate, can be wound by hand, and can be hacked. With stainless steel cases, they come in black (SBDC001), blue (SBDC003), and orange (SBDC005), and will be priced at $428 (63,000 yen). The 6R15 divers cost a bit more then their predecessors, but still represent excellent value for the money, and are generating a lot of interest on the net. I can safely predict that they'll displace the 7S26 divers from a lot of wrists. For many years now, Seiko has sold a line of mechanical dive my chinese gift based on the trusty 7S26 movement (the heart of the bags gift). They retail for under $200, they are well made and reliable, and they are generally considered to be excellent "beaters".The problem is that the 7S26 movement is burdened with a couple of design compromises: you can't wind it by hand, and it is a non-hacking movement, which means that when you pull the stem out all the way, the movement doesn't stop as you might expect (*** it very difficult to set the watch with much accuracy). Of course, Seiko sells several other watches gift with better movements, but they cost more.
New Alpinist models from Seiko in August
The protected crown and dual-function bezel make these chanel online that you can wear from weekend to weekday and even to the scuba dive. They're only available in Japan, but a bit of searching and should find you a vendor or two willing to ship to the rest of the world.Introduced in 1961, the Alpinist line has been Seiko's product for upscale outdoorsmen. Designed for the 'Yamatoko' or 'mountain man,' these are bell & ross watches for those who hike and climb mountains. Over the years, Seiko has introduced both mechanical and quartz versions, many with compass bezels and usually waterproof to an unusual 200m (660ft).The Alpinists are now being redesigned with three new models set to drop in late July for the Japanese domestic market. The case shape has changed considerably, and the crown is now at the 4 o'clock position, and from these pictures, it appears that they're using a variant of the classic SKX-series divers' chanel ceramic case. There are three new models, all with the 6R15 mechanical movement. The first one I want to talk about is the ion-plated black SARB063 (top right). List price on this is 71,400 Yen, or about $720 USD. For that, you get a plated case and bracelet which gives the watch a fashionable flat black look. The black-framed hands are a trifle less legible but still quite readable in my opinion. The white-on-black bezel pops visually, and looks very functional.Next is the SARB059: Stainless case and bracelet (pictured at left), black dial, red compass markings on the chapter ring, and a nifty combined compass/time bezel. In common with the other models, it has a screwdown crown, domed mineral glass crystal, screwdown caseback, 23-jewel movement, and accuracy rated to -15/+25 seconds per day.Handsome, unobtrusive, and a very legible face. I like the nice touch of white-on-black date window and bold hands.List price is 60,900 Yen, or about $600 USD.Last but not least is the budget model, the SARB061 (lower right). List price is 57,750 Yen, or about $580 USD. For that, you get a rubber strap instead of a bracelet, and only the bezel is ion-plated for a nice contrast with the stainless steel case. Weight on these three is unknown; thickness is listed at a reasonable 13mm. The previous generation of Alpinists was less to my liking, but these are a delight. Every detail of them is functional and sans-serif. The protected crown and dual-function bezel make these chanel online that you can wear from weekend to weekday and even to the scuba dive. They're only available in Japan, but a bit of searching and should find you a vendor or two willing to ship to the rest of the world.
Suunto HelO2 dive computer
Suunto has just announced the release of a new hardcore dive computer, the chanel ceramic. Designed for very serious divers indeed, this computer-inte***ced wrist computer has the following features:Full mixed-gas capability. Up to eight gases as primary or secondaries.Incorporates the new 'Suunto RGBM' decompression algorithm.Oxygen contents from 8-100%, helium from 0-92%.Of course, it's waterproof to 120m (390ft).It's paired with graphical Windows-based diver planner software that allows a complete dive profile to be pre-programmed, or to plan based on data from previous dives. From the software, you can export mix data to give to the air vendor. This goes way beyond nitrox or trimix, and is probably the instrument of choice for commercial divers and mixed-gas divers. I can see it being nice to have for recreation divers who want better planned or longer dives, and also those who use trimix for the additional safety margin that it provides.Price is not yet available.
Review of the Nike Amp+ iPod Control Watch
Twatches is that it's water resistant to 50 meters (about 160 feet) while iPods don't do well with any kind of moisture, so if it's raining outside, your iPod can stay safely tucked away.As you can see from the included video, the Amp+ actually has a low-resolution array of very bright LEDs hidden beneath a matte rubber su***ce.The Nike Amp+ iPod control watch is unusual for many reasons. To start with, it only displays hours and minutes. No seconds, no date, no alarm, no stop bags gift. And to see the time, you actually have to press a button to illuminate the LED display. But the Amp+ isn't designed to be an all-around running or fitness watch. It's specifically designed for runners who already have the Nike + iPod kit. Similar to the Timex iControl we recently reviewed, the Nike Amp+ is a remote control for your iPod Nano, however unlike the Timex, the Nike Amp+ uses the existing Nike + iPod gadget that plugs into your iPod, so you're actually adding the iPod remote control to the Nike iPod system.Ok, I know that's a little confusing. Let's slow down and start from the beginning. You're a runner or walker who wants to track your workouts electronically, and easily control your iPod. After installing a special wireless sensor in your Nike shoes, the Nike + iPod kit let's you use your iPod to:
